Music You Can Tap Your Foot To

I'm going to be honest. I do not plan on uploading too much music. But if I do, please understand that my goal for Broken Ear (and Dead Pop Stars) is to make this music heard for those unfamiliar with what I post. I may not be a glorified "music historian" (as our friend Billy Bob Thornton) since a lot of what I post gets plenty of "blog hype". Yeah, I get that. But one more couldn't hurt. The biggest issue bands have is getting their stuff heard; in the old days you had to be signed to a major record label to be on the popular radio stations. You'd have to implore some pizza-faced music snob at the local record store about what's really cool. Now we have the internet, in all of its glory. Also, it would be fair to argue that anyone can just Google a song name and a Lala link will pop up lickity-split. Yet we all know that the true way of getting comfortable with a new artist(s) takes some personal time with an iPod or home stereo system.

That being said, the music on this blog is merely for sample use only. From time to time I will host an album from an artist that I'm really excited about. If you love it, awesome. The artist has one more fan. Just mainly expect streaming files of songs. I'm sure you've gathered by now that Youtube is my media player of choice.

So here's one of my favorite records by L.A.'s Ariel Pink's Haunted Graffiti, Worn Copy (2005)

So if you like it, please make sure to support the artist and buy the album (or at least a song you admire) on iTunes or any other preferred method. And tell your friends of the new band you can't stop listening to! Good talk.
